I'm Luis Bosque, a freelance product technologist. I work with companies whose technology organization is hitting a wall or trying to prevent it - whether it's speed, quality, or the ability to push what's technically possible with their technology.

What I Do & How I Work

Your technology should be a competitive advantage, but it isn’t. The team delivers what’s asked but struggles to push beyond that. You scaled up and somehow got slower — or you’re about to scale and need foundations that won’t crack under pressure. You’re integrating AI into your product or building one around it, and need to architect systems that actually deliver value and work reliably in production.

Whatever’s holding you back, I analyze the whole picture - technology, team dynamics, processes, product strategy - to find the real bottlenecks and opportunities and design practical solutions.

My background spans from building highly-scalable products to leading technology organizations through rapid growth. This means I can see problems from the database layer to the board room - understanding technical implications of business decisions that may be easy to miss, and strategic context that shapes technical choices.

I’ve worked across different technology stacks - databases, AI systems, real-time platforms. I start from product needs and constraints, then design the right technology that meets the goal without burning through resources. I build systems your team can maintain and evolve, not clever architectures that look great on paper but collapse under real-world pressure.

I iterate fast, working with product to identify competitive opportunities technology could unlock, with leadership to plan the technical roadmap, with the engineering team to understand bottlenecks, and debugging code if that’s where the issue is hiding. I design solutions for your specific situation, not copy-paste frameworks that worked somewhere else.

I elevate the team, identifying hidden (and obvious) opportunities to build technology that advances the product and the business and eliminating or fixing everything that slows us down.

About me

I’ve spent my career moving from hands-on engineering to CTO roles across different industries, always focused on companies in growth phases. I’ve built products that handle hundreds of thousands of users, led teams through 10x growth, and made architectural decisions that enabled new product capabilities and business opportunities or improved product sustainability. This spans geospatial analysis platforms, collaborative design tools, and medical imaging systems with AI-driven diagnostics.

I build things that work. I’m wary of overengineering and premature optimization, but I understand when full automation and scalability are essential. Every company is different, and the solutions need to fit the reality - the technology, the team, the constraints, and the goals.
